The Hobbit Hole

In a hole there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.

Calvin

Filed under: Programming — bilbo @ 7:32 pm

I’ve written an article about the persistence library I’m using in my RPG. It’s entitled Calvin, for reasons evident in the article.

I’ve put it up here for a few days to collect feedback before I submit it to Code Project. I’m looking for both technical and grammatical feedback, though the library’s design is pretty much set.

Pictures are down

Filed under: General — bilbo @ 11:30 am

I removed the pictures because they had my kids in them. My wife didn’t like that. Then, I saw an episode of Law & Order: SVU last night with an internet predator, and I immediately took them down.

What is the world coming to?

Cat Pictures

Filed under: General — bilbo @ 12:00 pm

I’ve had a number of people ask to see pictures of our cat, Zucchini. She’s a Blue Burmese cat, though of course that means she is grey, not blue. If you see her close up, you can see tints of blue in parts of her coat.

These pictures are kind of large, so I would recommend a broadband connection.

Still coming

I’ve been working on the book sections as I mentioned in the previous post. Christmas and the New Year holidays did get in the way a bit, but I’m still working on them. I’ve rethought some of the ideas. They’re still the 5 C’s, but what I had originally meant has changed a bit, something I’m sure will happen again in the editing process.

I’m about done with creativity, but then I decided that consistency should come first, so I’m working on that section. Creativity will then undergo some revision, and then be posted.

So, for all 2 of you who read this website, I’ll still be posting them, but I don’t know exactly when.
